  1. My sentiments exactly. I am trying to figure out who the heck needs LinkedIn. To me it’s like a big circle on the internet. Like the Circle on Route 46 in Lodi. A waste of bits and bytes.

    • Yes. “We are from the relatively small group of those who:

      1. Can look at something and see it for what it is. I hope we become more the rule than the exception.

      2. Believe that if it’s worth playing, it’s worth playing loud.

      3. Believe that if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

I can probably go on, but stop and ask if there’s more that comes to your mind. I suppose we’ll continue and I think that, according to Arlo, we have a “movement”. Think we’ll get to revolution or will they shut us down and put us “off the team”. 🎯

      A few minutes later…

I’m using the invite to personalize an invitation, and like in so many other areas of this behemoth I hit the wall going 80 – “only allowed 300 characters”. Which Einstein came up with that. And – it doesn’t tell you that, it simply tells you that you’ve exceeded the limit by x number of characters.

OK, Magoo, now you’ve done it.

      I’m either

      A. Creating a separate page in this blog dedicated to Calling Out the frustrations and shuts plain old dumb things that this Beast manifests

      B. Maybe a second blog dedicated just to that.

      Whadaya think?

Worth the risk of being shunned by society for pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes?

I know – I’ll create a poll, and see what, if any, of our compadres think. No answer is an answer. Leaves it up to me/us. ✅

    • Jeff Weiner, no pun intended, is “CEO”.

Like all too many other internet enabled entities, it gets it’s leverage using the credentials of others. Where is the value and what is the goal? If those to criteria can’t be easily answered, I see a problem.

In this case, the thinking seems to be “well, if X signed up, then it must be good”, and on, and so on.

Yet another example of the “empower has no clothes” syndrome.

We came of age during a time when we all embraced the “question authority” was was the way to go. Remember? Well, maybe because too many either forgot or were busy getting rich, that dynamic got turned on its head, reversed to “Authority Questions You”. Remember Yaakov Smirnoff? So, while were busy stripping at airports, and more police forces dressed in black, armed and ready to shoot first and ask questions later, chasing ghosts in the name of counter-terrorism and that means collecting all communication, who has time, or the balls to even think about “questioning authority”. I think John (Cougar) Mellancamp penned a tune to that effect.

See what happens when you don’t pay attention? (You get labelled ADD and sedated), in the name of not paying attention.

The movie “Network” as you pointed out, was a wake-up call. Problem is, we took the phone off the hook and went back to sleep.
